Ahem, so I've been slacking. I haven't received as many books this month (I'm trying to slow down for school), and I've been away/starting law school. Because of this, my StS post have been just a little MIA ;) But here's a new one for you now!

  • ARC Katya's World by Jonathan L. Howard ~ from Strange Chemistry (TBR ~ November 6, 2012) Not sure how, but I now have 2 of these
  • ARC Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu ~ from Penguin Canada (TBR ~ January 23, 2013) EEEP! More Legend!! SO exciting :)  :)
  • ARC Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff ~ from Penguin Canada (TBR ~ January 8, 2013) I LOVE Brenna's writing (and we share the same name, so I kind of HAVE to read her books) and can't wait to see what she does with this story!
  • ARCLondon Eye (Toxic City #1) by Tim Lebbon ~ from Pyr Books (TBR ~ October 2, 2012) They're calling this one Hunger Games meets X-Men. Yeah, as if I could have passed this one up after hearing that.
  • Audio Burn for Burn by Jenny Han, Siobhan Vivian ~ from Simon & Schuster US (TBR ~ September 18, 2012)
  • Audio Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama ~ from Macmillan Audio ~ so I'm listening to this one right now and loving it! Totally unexpected, narrator has a cool voice, and this is kinda dark and gritty. I like it. :)

And as you can see there is also a whole bunch of swag in that photo! Diana Peterfreund sent out fancy bookmarks for 3 of her books - I think hers are some of my favourite ever. They're super nice in person. There are lots so I can give out lots :)

And as well, I have some Innocent Darkness swag! Lots of fun. I love the sticker. Expect lots of these to end up floating around as well :)

Please leave a link to your blog so I can stop by and visit to see what you received recently!

Phew, our weather here has FINALLY cooled down a bit instead of being terribly hot and humid! Kind of nice to have it a bit nicer :) I received a few books this week that I'm incredibly excited about so that helped make it a great week too! There was also a great event this week in Toronto featuring Rachel Hartman and her debut YA book, Seraphina.

  • ARC Be My Enemy (Everness #2) by Ian McDonald (TBR ~ September 2012) received from Pyr Books - I haven't read Planesrunner yet, the first in this series, but I've had good luck with Pyr in the past so I'm hoping to love this series as well!
  • ARC The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater (TBR ~ September 18, 2012) received from Scholastic Canada - I've heard great things about this one and can't wait for it!
  • ARC A Mutiny in Time (Infinity Ring #1) by James Dashner (TBR ~ August 28, 2012) received from Scholastic Canada
  • ARC Katya's World by Jonathan L. Howard (TBR ~ October 30, 2012) received from Angry Robot - this books sounds like it will be RIGHT up my alley and I can't wait to see how it is!
  • ARC The Reluctant Journal of Henry K. Larsen by Susan Nielson (TBR ~ September 11, 2012) received from Random House Canada
E-book:
  • E-galley Stormdancer (The Lotus War #1) by Jay Kristoff (TBR ~ September 28, 2012) received from publisher via Net Galley - I've heard great things about this one and can't wait to find out for myself! Everyone is raving about Stormdancer :)
Clearly, it was an ARC sort of week! Let me know what other books you received this week by leaving a link so I cna stop by and visit too :)

So today my post is going up a little bit later than usual because I was attending a book launch earlier today for Joanne Levy's debut, Smart Medium at Large from Bloomsbury! It was a lot of fun but I knew I'd be coming back with some books so I put off doing this post until afterwards.
This week I received:

  •  Review copy of The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer (TBR ~ July 17, 2012) received from HBG Canada - really curious about this one since it looks so neat and is written by Glee's Chris Colfer! :)
  • ARC So Close to You by Rachel Carter received from HarperCollins US (won in giveaway)
  • Last Rite (Personal Demons #3) by Lisa Desrochers (from Wendy @ A Cupcake and a Latte ~ Wendy had a copy she was ready to pass along to someone, and this is the only one I was missing!)
  • ARC Entice (Embrace #2) by Jessica Shirvington (TBR ~ September 4, 2012) Wendy also had an extra copy of Entice, so she kindly passed it along to me as I loved Embrace :)
This picture shows what I received from the Small Medium at Large gift bag that Joanne put together for the attending bloggers! This was absolutely amazing, and I can't even tell you how cool it was that she did this for us :) There were 2 books included (they were all Penguin books ~ I ended up trading my copy of Cold Fury for Frostbite since I already have Cold Fury) But isn't this just amazing?! SO MUCH swag! They're all from 2012 debuts :) And a delicious, red velvet cupcake! <3
  • SIGNED Small Medium at Large by Joanne Levy (purchased at the book launch)
  • ARC Rift by Andrea Cremer (TBR ~ August 7, 2012) this is actually my second copy of the book, so I'll be passing this one along at some point to another reader
  • Frostbite: A Graphic Novel (Vampire Academy #2) by Richelle Mead (I haven't read VA yet, but I keep meaning to and I like the graphics in the graphic novels so I traded my copy of Cold Fury for this one!)
So much swag I can't even handle it! I'm kind of a swag hoarder, so even if I do give away a whole bunch of this, I'll STILL end up with some for me hehe. It was such a great week though, and Joanne did a great reading from her book. And as always, it was so nice to see the other Blogettes! :)

  • I was totally surprised when I received some Fierce Reads swag for being a part of the Monument 14 tour from Macmillan! They were so lovely, and sent over TWO posters: one Shadow & Bone (with the map on the back) & one Fierce Reads PLUS 4 bookmarks & a temporary tattoo! So cool :)
  • AND I received some Spencer Hill Press swag including bookmarks and stickers!
  • PLUS I received a second Shadow & Bone poster for the preorder at Books of Wonder ~ I'll only be holding onto one, not sure what I'll be doing with the second one but it WILL be going to a good home :)
