Interview with Jus Accardo

Guys, I am BEYOND honoured to be a part of Jus Accardo's official blog tour for her debut novel Touch (Denazen #1)  from Entangled Publishing. After reading it, I can promise you that it is fantastic.

And if you want to see why, then you MUST read my 5-star review for Touch. It really is one of my favourite books for this year. And if you don't believe me, head on over to Jus' website where you can see what others had to say.

Make sure you visit the rest of the stops on the tour & find the schedule here!

But today, I am so lucky to have Jus here at Esther's Ever After for my interview with her! And at the end, you'll find the details for a WONDERFUL giveaway too! :)

Brenna: Jus, I enjoyed reading Touch so much and I was completely blown away by it. I enjoyed your story, I wanted to be best friends with Dez, and I fell in love with Kale. What has been your favourite part of now having your book out there for people to read?

Jus: Thank you :) I'm so glad you liked it!
I guess my favorite part has to be finally sharing Dez and Kale with the world. They mean a lot to me and I love them. To know they're out there for everyone else to fall in love with is such an amazing high.

Brenna: Did you find your journey of having Touch published difficult? Is there anything you wish you had done differently?

Jus: It was really frustrating at times. The query process, and then the submissions process, are hell on writers--especially writers who have no patience (like me). Really though, compared to other people I know, my journey was pretty painless (and fairly short). I really can't complain! As for what I'd do differently, I'm not sure there is anything. I'm very happy with out things turned out :)

Brenna: What's one thing you hope readers will take away from reading Touch?

Stay away from men in blue spandex toting tranq guns ! ;D

Brenna: What was your favourite scene to write? Was there anything in particular that inspired you to write that scene?

Jus: One of my favorites was the scene where Kale is in Dez's room for the first time. I was listening to This Night by Black Lab as I started it. Originally he was just going to go in and leave without speaking to her, but while listening to that song, the whole thing opened up in my mind. It turned into such a powerful, emotionally charged scene!

Brenna: I know I'm not the only fan eager for more of your Denazen books. Any chance you could give us a little tidbit or insight of what we can expect in the upcoming ones?

Jus: Dez and Kale aren't going to have it easy. There are plenty more secrets and more betrayals. Some characters are going to really surprise you (in a good way), while others are going shock you (in a bad way).
----

As if I wasn't anxious enough already for Toxic (Denazen #2)! A big thank you to Jus for being a part of this post today, and to Trisha from YA Bound for organizing this tour!

Author Bio:
Jus Accardo is the author of YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction. A native New Yorker, she lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband, three dogs, and sometimes guard bear, Oswald. Her first book, Touch, is due out in November 2011 from Entangled Publishing. She is represented by Kevan Lyon of Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.

Touch Blurb:
"When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her. It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy - and her father's "law firm" - than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation - an organization devoted to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons - his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. Dez and Kale team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect."
