Readathon: Dewey's 24 Hour ~ April 2012

Good morning everyone!

I don't know how many of you are participating, but today I'm taking part in the April 2012 24 Hour Dewey's Read-a-Thon!

I'm hoping to make it as close to 24 hours as possible, but we'll see how long I last! I'm starting at Hour 2, since I needed the sleep time from Hour 1.

I'm also a cheerleader from Team Polonius so I'll be taking breaks for that too :)

And now for the reading pile:

I don't have an order for these, just hoping to get as much done as I can!

  • Angel Burn
  • Above
  • The Storyteller
  • Someone Else's Life
  • Touch of Frost (one of the only non-review book I have here haha!)
  • Belles
  • Bloodland
  • A Breath of Eyre
  • Immortal City
  • Graceling on audio (another non-review book, but this way I can complete more reading even if I'm not able to have a book with  me at some point) I believe I'm on Chapter 18 of the audio right now.
I'm starting with Angel Burn and I'll then update as I go along.

Also, I'm answering the introductory questions from the readathon :)

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
~ Canada!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
~ Hmm I'm probably most curious about Above. But I'm loving Graceling at the same time!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
~ I don't have any special snacks haha! I might treat myself to a sugar cookie, but other than that it'll be standard fare for me.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
~ I just finished my undergrad BA course work on Wednesday. This readathon is my reward!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
~ First 24 hour one, I'm most looking forward to the dedicated time for reading!

Update #1:
4:00 p.m.
7 hours in
Books completed: 1 (Angel Burn)
Currently reading: Floodland
Pages read: 449
I've been reading fairly slowly (for me at least) and Angel Burn was longer, but this is my first real break! I'm going to update my blog with my IMM post and cheer on other readers for a bit :)

Update #2:
7:30 p.m.
10 and a half hours in
Books Completed: 2 (Angel Burn & Floodland)
Currently reading: Above
Pages read: 585
Floodland was a quick little read; interesting but it didn't grab my attention. I'm just finishing up my second break (for supper) and then I'm going back to Above - which is very interesting!

Good luck! I should have signed up too, but I have so much to do today. Maybe tomorrow I'll have my own mini read-a-thon. :)

Can't wait to see what you think of Above. I really want to read it.
